Outreach Services provides tools and technology to help patrons with low-vision access books, the web, and other library resources.

Topaz PHD

Portable video magnifier that folds away like a laptop.  The Topaz PHD features auto-focus, a wide magnification range, six default and 27 customizable high-contrast color modes, and adjustable reading lines and masks.

Digital Talking Book Player

Used to play audiobooks stored on USB flash-drive cartridges.  These players are supplied to eligible patrons through a network of co-operating libraries under the program administered by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Library of Congress in executing United States Public Law 89-522.

Ruby Digital Magnifier

Provides up to 14px digital magnification with 5 high contrast color viewing modes.  The Ruby is battery operated and highly portable.

i-reader

Self-contained scanning and reading appliance for people who are blind or have low vision that quickly converts printed text to spoken text. No computer experience is needed.  Read documents without the need for sighted assistance.  This device also serves as a magnifying reading appliance.
