Virtual Programs

Our building may be closed for now but the Morrill Memorial Library is here for you, helping keep our community connected with virtual programs. We’re offering many digital programs for both adults and kids at different times of day and on different days of the week, and you can find all of these programs and access details on our Events Calendar.

If you’re not able to join us for these live virtual programs, there are a number of recorded programs and interviews available to watch anytime on our Youtube channel.

Dr-beth-kurland-photoOne of our trusted program partners contacted us recently to offer mindfulness coping strategies to our patrons at this time. Beth Kurland, a local licensed clinical psychologist, has given popular mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral programs at our library in the past. Please visit her blog for practical coping strategies to help manage stress and feelings of isolation.

We’re offering a lot of programs, including virtual book groups and craft programs, using a video chat service called Zoom. We want to do our best to make our programs as accessible as possible, even for those who aren’t as comfortable using computers. Therefore, if you or someone you know is not able to use a computer to join us on Zoom, for most programs there will be a phone number available to call so you can be part of the conversation. Details are available on our Events Calendar, or you can use the chat box on the bottom right hand side of our homepage to connect with a staff member.

Please see this very helpful guide to getting started with Zoom.

This guide was put together by a former Trustee of the MML.

In addition to making sure virtual programs are accessible, we want to make sure they’re secure. Please see the colorful infographic below on this page for some ways our staff are working hard to make sure our online space is safe and secure.
