This program is for adults, teens, and families with children ages 6 and up!

Titles on Tap - November @ Napper Tandy's | Norwood | Massachusetts | United States

Our book for November will be “Dark Matter” by Blake Crouch. Copies of the book and audiobook are available at the Reference Desk, and both the ebook and audiobook are available digitally through Overdrive. Pick up a copy, read it, and join us on 11/28 @ 7:30 pm!

Titles on Tap is a social book group for readers in their 20s and 30s and for the young at heart. We go in for stories that are shaken, not stirred, and we don’t mind taking our love of lit outside the library walls. Titles on Tap meets once a month in the left-hand bar of Napper Tandy’s to eat, drink, be merry, and discuss the latest reading selection. Visit our website and follow us @titlesontap to learn more.

Would you like to maximize your chances of getting hired? Come to any or all of four job search workshops at the Morrill Memorial Library on alternate Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m., beginning with “Contemporary Resumes” on November 30. The remaining three workshops in this series presented by Mike Pyne, a certified professional resume writer, are “Successful Interviews” (Dec. 14), “The Elevator Pitch” (Dec. 28), and “Cover Letters” (Jan. 11).

In the first workshop, on November 30 at 6:30 p.m., Mr. Pyne will discuss how to tailor your resume to fit the specifications of the job posting and make it stand out. The second session, “Successful Interviews,” will cover the importance of preparing for your interview and presenting yourself in the most positive light. In “The Elevator Pitch” you will learn how to talk about yourself with confidence in a way that will highlight your knowledge, skills, and accomplishments. The final workshop will focus on the cover letter—yet another opportunity to market yourself and make a good first impression.

Mike Pyne has been a career counselor at One-Stop Career Centers in Massachusetts and has led numerous workshops. He is a former hiring manager with extensive expertise in the interview process.
